Remaining Neutral was founded in 2021 by singer and song writer Josh Carland, along with drummer Daniel Vandernick. Later that year Derek Lynn was recruited to play bass for the band. The three have to this date been the only members that have been recruited since its founding in 2021. There have been problems beyond and of the members control that have delayed performances as well as recordings of the written material. As of October 8, 2024, they have released an EP titled "Starting Over Again," (Recorded by Josh and Daniel only prior to Derek joining. Released on February 5th, 2021) and "Progress To Something," (With all three members, released on October 8th, 2024.) Currently, Josh Carland is the only member active due to events involving other members. Josh is also indecisive on recruiting any more players at the time due to his continuous health problems.

***As of this time, no live performances other than a few solo performances by Josh alone have actually happened unfortunately. This is due to Josh's health problems again primarily. The only member technically at this time is Josh. For Daniel may not be available to commit further. Derek has had life problems, partially due to the recent natural disaster involving the Tropical storm, Helene less than a week before the album was released. Josh only states at this moment "Another life event has placed a lot of us in another situation of the temporarily hidden,....I would say this other than the word unknown again involving this."***
